Y, oh y, must I be so interested in your x? Understand the beauty of introducing letters to math!
I've been teaching Algebra for 10 years. I strive to show students the beauty behind mathematics and encourage them to enjoy it. I work with students at their own pace with the main focus being on developing the confidence to be able to understand what questions are asking and how to solve problems. I prefer to spend the first two lessons testing a student's confidence, strengths, and weaknesses before I select the teaching materials. I cannot wait to help you reach your math goals!
About Kyle C.

Note: Summer time is generally more flexible for me. However, please contact me before signing up for a time because my schedule is less concrete. I am a Ph.D. student in Statistics and earned a Bachelor's in mathematics from St. Norbert College in 2016. I have been tutoring for over 10 years now, starting with my work as a Program Staff at the local Boy's and Girl's Club. Now I just enjoy working with students one-on-one and in small groups. I love teaching and plan on being a professor after finishing my Ph.D. Further, I am trying to develop classes that students will enjoy and be able to take with them. I hate when I hear people say that they hated stats or math because of this class they had when they were younger. My goal is to change that by creating a learning system that is enjoyable and efficient.

Kyle was incredibly helpful to Austin and effectively relayed concepts and provided guidance where he needed most. Me - the mom has also been totally thrilled with Kyle's sunny disposition, lighting fast communications and flexibility while working with our changing schedule. Couldn't be happier with Kyle and our general experience with Take Lessons!

Myself
I worked with several students in math mathematics ranging from 4th grade math to Calculus B/C. Two of my students went from not being able to complete assignments and hating math to being able to pass their Algebra II classes without any help from me at all. Another student went from struggling with a D to passing her Calculus II class with a B+ and the AP exam.
Program Staff
Aug 2009 - Apr 2016
Boy's and Girl's Club of Greater La Crosse
I developed programs to help children from ages 5 to 18 grow and develop as well-rounded individuals. I spent the most time working with younger children to help with homework and teach them manners and how to play well with others.

Boy's and Girl's Club of Greater Green Bay
I helped students in grades 6 to 8 learn various subjects from English to Science to Spanish to Geography. My main task was to help with all levels of math, from learning multiplication to mastering Algebra I. Many of the students were English as a second language, so I did some teaching in Spanish, but most was in English.

St. Norbert College Multicultural Student Services
I helped my peers in college learn math from Algebra I to Calculus II and Statistics. I worked in an open room for a few hours a week and students were allowed to come in and ask questions in a wide variety of subjects. I answered several hundred questions over the year, with many of them from the hardest parts of calculus and statistics.
