Hi I'm a 35 year old professional musician that has worked hard to become a first call drummer for performance, instruction, and studio session work in the Atlanta area. Over the past decade I have toured internationally, recorded with countless regional, national and local artists, and have gained a positive reputation in the Atlanta community as a unique, innovative, and passionate drum teacher. I studied music at The University of Mississippi and I am qualified to teach numerous styles including Rock, Pop, Hip Hop, Jazz, Electronica, World and many others. I have years of experience teaching private and group lessons (I'm a recurring Camp Counselor in Summer music programs). I offer drummers of all ages the inspiration and chance to learn the art of drum set playing within a basic, relaxed, and fun context. I teach music at a local school but I am currently accepting a limited number of students ONLINE.*** *** Studio Equipment *** My drum studio includes 2 drum kits to help aid in visual learning, percussion instruments from around the world, a PA system to play along to music and great vibes! *** Travel Equipment *** For student's home lessons I require only the student's willingness to learn (having a drum or set helps too). *** Specialties *** Based within a fun, relaxed context, Casey has developed a natural teaching method that focuses on learning and understanding the building blocks of RHYTHM, familiarizing and connecting these building blocks, and applying them to individual musical expression. He has the ability to take nearly anyone without prior drum set, percussion or rhythmic experience, and, within days, turn them into beat playing drummers. His approach focuses on: HAVING FUN, building an understanding and relationship with each drum or instrument, the basic rudimentary foundation of rhythm, how to approach the drums, hold the sticks, set up and tune the drums, basic techniques, development limbs, learning how to read basic drum and music charts and play to them, learning and playing the most significant beats and patterns in the history of drum set, and gaining the ability to effectively teach oneself how to improve as a drummer and musician.

Casey’s a fantastic teacher. He makes it so fun for our daughter, and always has creative ways of keeping her engaged. She already progressed so much with his help in a short period of time. Can’t imagine a better teacher!
My daughter received drums for Christmas so I signed her up for lessons and selected Casey. Best selection made! He is a great instructor. My daughter has had several sessions and he definitely makes it fun while learning and her drumming sounds great!
I've had several months of weekly lessons with Casey. He is absolutely the real deal when it comes to tailoring education and shines in an online tutoring environment. His gear and camera angles are set up perfectly for a video-based experience, and he's incredibly prompt on follow-up. In my case, I don't have major aspirations for drumming as I play other instruments. But in a very short amount of time, the drums have grown to become a crutch instrument for me in whimsical recordings that I produce for limited, personal audiences. I can honestly say that I approach my own musical production efforts with a lot more confidence. I never loop with software or use production tricks - for all instruments, I always rely on being able to play a song all the way through. I'm confident that Casey has observed this personality trait and weaved that into our lessons. While Casey has a prescribed curriculum, I've enjoyed just jamming or asking geeky equipment questions as much as I've enjoyed going through the actual exercises. In my case, I have a wide background of musical tastes and Casey has been able to quickly contextualize things he's teaching into songs, artists, or eras that I'd instantly recognize.
