Whether it is a beginner or a more experienced student, I start everyone with an interview. This is so I can create the perfect lesson style for my students. I specialize in musical theory and composition and have learned many different techniques from the groups that I have played in. I promise that you will improve and you will love the music you play.

I specialize in brass instruments, and have 20 years of experience. I can teach you everything from sound production and control to crossing from mere technique into meaningful music. We can talk about everything from a trumpeter's leadership role in the orchestra to handling the stress of a competitive instrument. There's a certain trumpet "swagger," and I can help you *earn* it.

I am joyful to be a part of some truly spectacular results from my students! My lesson plans are designed for all ability levels ranging from complete beginner to professional performer. They will help you with tuning, range, endurance, rhythm, but most importantly keep your chops (lips) in healthy condition (no-one wants to hurt after playing music!) I promise results. When a student takes lessons with me, their whole outlook on life will change in a matter of sessions. They are exposed to a wide variety of literature, genres, cultures, and styles, and the learning environment and instruction will teach them to gain a positive outlook on life and approach other areas of their life with a growth mindset; learning music is an avenue for learning life lessons. These life lessons and positivity are brought on with instruction that is tailored to their specific interests, hobbies, and needs. Each student is unique, so their education should be a reflection of that.

With performance experience that includes working with the Disneyland Band and 10+ years of teaching experience (as of 2021) I am ready to help you get started, improve your technique, work on musicality, or prepare for an audition. Whatever you need!

I Have been teaching for 10 + years.Part of my daily focus is on relaxed breathing and generating a big beautiful tone for every note played. Long tones are something that I include in my daily regiment. Lots of dexterity exercises,range building, as well as endurance. Another aspect of my daily regiment is improvisation. focusing on major/minor/ whole tone/diminished scales/ II-Vs in all keys and playing changes! Lastly RESTING as MUCH as you PRACTICE is very IMPORTANT!
