Are you looking to improve your drum skills? Learning drums can be fun, fast and easy with the right teacher! My name is Ben and I've been a music teacher for 16 years. In lessons, we will learn fundamentals and technique to get you playing with good habits right away. From there we will learn songs that you are interested in by applying the techniques we have learned! No reading skills are necessary, and I can teach you to read music as well! My teaching style is very flexible & hands on. My goal is to make beautiful music and I do this by taking technical exercises and giving them musical meaning. This means I focus on the ideas of time, vocabulary & dynamic playings, but within this still teaching essential technical exercises in order to create a well-rounded musician. After each lesson I will email detailed notes, as well as any supplemental documents and/or music.

I teach reading rhythms, playing with a bend and how to groove!

I've been teaching drum set for 5 years. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to properly hold a pair of sticks and as time goes on you'll be able to effectively keep time, and play along to songs. I specialize in rock, funk, pop, and blues drumming. In my lessons I typically us the instructional books Syncopation by Ted Reed and the Drummer's Bible by Mick Berry. At lessons I have two drum sets, drum pads, sticks, brushes, music stands, and various drum books. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and am excited to teach.
